I didn’t come into this business from a desk. I came from the garage.
Long before insurance, I was drawn to the automotive world. I worked on classics, beaters, and everything in between, completed my auto mechanic apprenticeship, and earned my mechanic’s license. That background still shapes how I look at garage risks today because I understand how shops work, how owners think, and how fast things can go sideways when coverage doesn’t line up with reality.
Later, after owning a business and working in management, I gained something else that matters just as much: a firsthand understanding of what business owners carry every day, payroll, equipment, customers, deadlines, cash flow, and the constant pressure to keep everything moving. That perspective is a big part of why I approach insurance differently.
I moved into the insurance industry more than 20 years ago and found the perfect fit: helping people in the automotive world protect what they’ve built. Today, I work with auto repair shops, body shops, detailing operations, and other automotive businesses that need more than a generic policy and a quick renewal.
What makes Garage Guy different is simple: I speak both languages, the language of the shop and the language of insurance. I know that a garage owner does not need fluff, vague promises, or the cheapest number on a spreadsheet. You need someone who understands your operation, spots the gaps, and helps make sure your coverage will stand up when it matters most.
My Approach
My approach is straightforward: learn the business, review the risk, and tell the straight truth.
I see myself as a second set of eyes for garage owners, a partner who can step in, take a fresh look at the coverage, and help identify blind spots, overlaps, and opportunities for improvement. That might mean finding savings where they make sense, but it never means cutting protection just to make a premium look good.
I believe in value over price, because a low premium is not a win if the policy falls apart during a claim. Garage businesses move fast, change fast, and face exposures that are often missed until a loss happens, which is why insurance should be reviewed regularly, not just at renewal time.
